Job summary

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) to lead prevention rounds, monitor practices, and coordinate outbreak investigations across our long-term care communities.

You will train staff, maintain infection data records, ensure supply availability for prevention activities, and report incidents to the appropriate departments. Active RN license in good standing and LTC experience required; infection control certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold active RN license in state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year of LTC/SNF/AL/MC care experience with specialized treatments.
• Infection control experience required; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Infection Prevention Nurse, you are responsible for conducting rounds, discussing and monitoring infection prevention practices with staff members, collecting infection data from departments, maintaining records for each case of healthcare- associated infection, conducting outbreak investigation, training staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices, investigating incidents of infections and reporting such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and ensuring availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Must have active, and in good standing, Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Prior experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting preferred
• One year of prior experience providing specialized treatments in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting required
• Prior Infection Control experience required
• Infection Control certification preferred
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
