Job summary

The Infection Prevention Nurse at T.H.E. Health and Wellness Centers oversees infection prevention activities, surveillance, performance improvement, and education to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state/local guidelines, coordinating trainings, and reporting to leadership and public health. Candidates must be RN with 3+ years experience in infection control, CA driver license, and strong communication;

Qualifications

• Active APIC member or APIC board certification within 2 years.
• Minimum 3 years as a licensed Registered Nurse or 3 years of infection control experience in a community clinic.
• Current CA Driver License; able to drive to several locations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, professionals, and work as a team.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update infection prevention programs and procedures.
• Conduct surveillance and data analysis to drive improvement.
• Coordinate trainings and staff education on infection control.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Report to senior leadership and public health authorities.
• Participate in safety and environment of care meetings.
