Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare seeks a compassionate Infection Preventionist (IP) Nurse / Unit Manager to lead the facility's infection control program, supervise nursing staff, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will conduct surveillance, educate staff on hand hygiene and PPE, monitor policies, and maintain HIPAA privacy while supporting resident care on the assigned unit.

Qualifications

• RN license in state law
• Infection prevention experience preferred
• Long term care experience required
• Supervisory or unit management experience preferred
• Knowledge of CDC and CMS infection control guidelines
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to lead a team and respond in urgent/outbreak situations

Responsibilities

• Oversee Infection Prevention and Control Program per federal/state regulations
• Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, trending, reporting
• Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, local health dept regulations
• Educate staff on infection prevention, hand hygiene, PPE usage
• Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
• Monitor isolation precautions and ensure proper implementation
• Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff on the unit
• Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and daily clinical operations
• Monitor resident conditions and ensure care plan implementation
• Support staff development, evaluation, and corrective action when needed
• Maintain documentation and regulatory readiness
• Report changes in infection trends to facility leadership
• Uphold resident privacy and dignity per HIPAA and standards
• Comply with all regulations and guidelines
• Stay current through educational opportunities and licensure maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned
