Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is seeking an Infection Control Coordinator to lead the hospital-wide infection prevention program at our Naples campus. The role includes surveillance, data analysis, staff education, and ensuring regulatory compliance to minimize infection risks.

The coordinator will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, implement policies, and respond to infectious threats, maintaining up-to-date knowledge through conferences and APIC membership. On-site, day shift.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in infection prevention, epidemiology, or a related field.
• CIC certification within two years of hire is required.
• RN licensure state preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates infection prevention and control programs across the hospital.
• Conducts active surveillance of infections and analyzes trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Prepares and presents infection control data to medical staff and leadership.
• Collaborates with departments to implement policies reducing infection risks.
• Educates staff on best practices for hand hygiene and PPE.
• Oversees employee immunization and TB skin testing programs.
• Investigates outbreaks and coordinates containment with hospital and external agencies.
