Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing.
• BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Associate degree in Nursing or related field.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required.
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor and report trends in healthcare-associated infections.
• Collaborate with facility leadership and staff to implement infection prevention practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with infection prevention policies and regulations.
• Develop and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve safety.
• Provide staff education on infection prevention practices.
• Participate in the facility’s QAA committee for continuous improvement.
• Conduct surveillance, audits and assessments of infection control efforts.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on infection prevention across the organization.
