Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO, is actively hiring an Infection Control Nurse/Nurse Educator to coordinate the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Program while providing leadership in staff education and clinical training initiatives.

The Nurse Educator/Infection Control Nurse will lead program development, education, and regulatory compliance, serving as a clinical resource to nursing and interdisciplinary staff in a growing behavioral health facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, infection prevention, staff development, or quality management preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control principles, adult learning methodologies, and regulatory standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains the Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Investigates infection control concerns and recommends corrective actions as appropriate.
• Provides infection prevention education and guidance to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Ensures compliance with CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates nursing education and staff development programs.
• Facilitates new employee orientation, annual competencies, and mandatory education requirements.
• Serves as a clinical resource and consultant to nursing and interdisciplinary staff.
