Medical University of South Carolina Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist to join our growing healthcare team. This role directly influences patient safety, clinical practice, and quality outcomes across the organization.

You’ll partner with physicians and clinical teams, educate staff, investigate concerns, and translate infection surveillance data into actionable improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance and a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field/experience.
• Five years of relevant clinical experience for non-nurse applicants.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce healthcare-associated infections across the organization.
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate infection data to drive practice changes.
• Partner with physicians and clinical teams; educate staff on prevention.
• Investigate infection concerns and provide timely guidance when issues arise.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and infection prevention guidelines.
