Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management is seeking an RN Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead the Infection Prevention and Control Program in our skilled nursing and sub-acute facilities. You will identify and prevent infections, coordinate COVID/Flu testing, and educate staff on CDC updates.

Ideal candidates hold an ASN, an RN license in the state, and have 1+ year nursing experience with Infection Prevention knowledge. IPCO certification within 5 days of employment is required.

Qualifications

• ASN required and RN licensure in state of practice.
• Minimum 1+ years nursing experience; LTC/Sub-Acute preferred.
• Experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
• Completion of Infection Prevention training/IPCO Certification within 5 days of employment.
• Knowledge of patient care practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation/sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control infections; manage the center's COVID/Flu testing schedules and educate staff on CDC updates.
• Serve as knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities
