Job summary

Jacksonville Nursing & Rehab Center seeks an Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead the infection prevention program within a long-term care and sub-acute rehab setting. Active LPN licensure with 2+ years in infection prevention, and CDC IPCO certification (or willingness to complete within 5 days) are required.

You will identify and control infections, manage testing schedules, educate staff on CDC updates, and ensure compliance with CDC, Joint Commission, and state/federal standards

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Epidemiology understanding relevant to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests; manage COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities

• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities

Qualifications for an Infection Prevention Control Officer

• Active LPN Licensure in the state of practice.
• Two (2) or more years' experience as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare professional with knowledge of infection prevention and control, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
• CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.

Pay Range

Up to $85,000 annually
