Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management seeks an RN Infection Prevention Control Officer to lead infection control across our long-term care and sub-acute facilities. You will manage the program, educate staff, and coordinate COVID/Flu testing with leadership support.

Requires ASN/ RN license, 1+ year nursing experience, IPC knowledge, and IPCO certification within 5 days of employment. Competitive benefits and a team-focused environment are offered.

Qualifications

• ASN degree required.
• RN Licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1+ years nursing experience. Long-Term Care/Sub-Acute Care preferred.
• Experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
• Completion of IPCO Certification within 5 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term and sub-acute care setting.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of infections among residents, staff, and guests; manage testing schedules and educate staff on CDC updates.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist for CDC, Joint Commission, Occupational Health standards, and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities Of An Infection Prevention Control Officer

• Be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests. You will manage and administer the centers COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates, as well as ensure staff are educated in proper use of PPD.
• Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities

Qualifications For RN Infection Prevention Control

• Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required.
• RN Licensure in the state of practice
• Minimum one (1+) years nursing experience. Long-Term Care / Sub-Acute Care Nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in Infection Prevention and Control with knowledge of patient care practices.
• Completion of Infection Prevention training/IPCO Certification within 5 days of employment.
