Title: INFECTION PREVENTION/INFECTION CONTROL (LVN)
Status:Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To:Director of Nursing
Pay Range: $77k-$87k annually

THE ROLE

You will lead with both heart and discipline. That means becoming the facility's central expert for all infection control matters, staying ahead of CDC, CMS, and OSHA regulations, and creating a culture where every staff member prioritizes infection prevention. Residents, families, and surveyors will see a safe, well‑protected environment – and you will be the reason.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE FACILITY

• THE FOUNDATION
  • Current, unencumberedLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued bythe State.
  • License in good standing with no active probation or substantiated violations.
  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, a recognized Infection Preventionist training course (e.g., from APIC or CDC) within 6 months of hire.
• THE JOURNEY
  • Minimum2 years of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Prior experience in an infection prevention role or demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of maintaining regulatory compliance in infection control.
  • Experience with outbreak management, contact tracing, and public health reporting.
• THE CRAFT

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Develop, implement, and annually evaluate the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.

• Serve as the primary educator for all staff on infection control practices, including hand hygiene, standard and transmission‑based precautions, and emerging infectious disease threats.
• Maintain a state of continuous survey readiness for all infection control‑related standards.
• Act as the facility's subject matter expert during internal and external surveys.
