Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter is seeking an Infection Control Coordinator to lead the hospital-wide infection prevention and control program. You will develop, implement, and monitor strategies to prevent HAIs and ensure regulatory compliance, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of infection prevention/epidemiology experience.
• CIC certification required within two years of hire.
• RN licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an infection prevention and control program aligned with policies and standards.
• Conducts active infection surveillance and reports findings to committees and leadership.
• Prepares data presentations using graphs and tables for medical staff and leadership.
• Collaborates with departments to develop policies reducing infection risks.
• Provides staff education on infection prevention practices and PPE usage.
• Oversees immunization and TB skin test programs for staff.
• Investigates outbreaks and coordinates containment efforts with departments and external agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of infection prevention trends through APIC and literature reviews.
• Delivers staff education sessions and updates policies per national standards.
