Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks an Infection Preventionist to join our Quality and Patient Safety team in Albuquerque. The role focuses on surveillance, data reporting, and interventions to prevent healthcare-associated infections.

You will work with clinical leaders, conduct outbreak investigations, and educate staff on isolation precautions and regulatory standards to ensure safe patient care across Presbyterian facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health-related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience in acute health care required.
• Infection Control CIC certification within 3 years from hire preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance, investigation, and reporting of HAIs and communicable diseases.
• Analyze infection prevention data and identify trends, opportunities, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to implement evidence-based infection prevention practices.
• Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response activities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies and education programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
