Job summary

GEO Secured Services seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate infection disease prevention and control across the facility. You will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate infection control activities in alignment with contractual and accreditation requirements.

You will monitor inmates with infectious diseases, support physician orders, and report to Health Administration and Public Health authorities. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and strict confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
• Competence in annual physical assessments; TB evaluation and monitoring; HIV care and monitoring; Hepatitis A, B and C evaluation and treatment monitoring; STD evaluation and treatment.
• Knowledge of data collection techniques for reporting practices.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Ability to develop and present educational teaching.
• Ability to work without direct supervision in performing nursing diagnosis and follow-through treatment.
• Ability to work with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse, Coordinator of Infection Disease (CID) applies nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates with infectious disease.
• Monitors patients with infectious disease.
• Executes physician orders.
• Assists the Physician in exams and treatment.
• Documents and reports infectious diseases in monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Develops reporting to the Public Health Department.
• Collaborates with Multidisciplinary Healthcare team members.
• Maintains compliance with industry and company policies for accreditation.
• Documents all detainee or inmate contacts and maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
