Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana, seeks a Registered Nurse-Program Coordinator (Infection Control Nurse) to oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program and related quality activities within the Quality Management Department. The role coordinates infection control, discharge planning, QA, DRG coordination, utilization review, and review processes.

The position requires a valid RN license in Louisiana or an equivalent multi-state license, with 3 years of RN

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact state to practice as a registered nurse.
• Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR a bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience; OR a master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience; OR a doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the Infection Prevention and Control Committee chairman and plans, implements, and conducts activities of the Infection Prevention and Control Program at CLSH.
• Provides the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and CLSH Administration with information about specific problem areas and liaises with hospital departments and regulatory agencies.
• Conducts surveillance for Healthcare Associated Infections and Infections Present upon Admission, monitoring epidemiologic significance and implementing preventative strategies.
• Reviews guidelines for CDC, AHA, WHO, OSHA, CMS, and TJC; serves as consultant to protect health and safety.
• Maintains records of all infections and determines prevalence of Hospital Acquired Infections on a monthly basis.
• Conducts employment and annual tuberculosis screening and vaccination program for CLSH employees, LIPs, and contracted staff.
