Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse Infection Control for per diem shifts. The RN will provide nursing care and collaborate with the health team to achieve patient outcomes, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include surveillance of infections, guidance on isolation and PPE, and collaboration to ensure regulatory readiness. Strong communication across all levels is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties aligned with the organization's mission and values.
• Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goals, and other required records.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates effectively with health care team and escalates when needed.
• Establishes relationships with staff, patients, families, and team members.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy per policy, including blood products.
• Sets priorities for patient care and coordinates responsibilities, with appropriate delegation.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Delivers nursing care based on patient age, safety, education and psychosocial needs.
