NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse in Infection Control, Per Diem, to oversee nursing care with a focus on preventing infections. The role requires a NYS RN license and BLS, with demonstrated infection control experience.

The position is based in Brooklyn, NY, with per diem scheduling and competitive pay. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to monitor outbreaks, educate staff, and support regulatory readiness and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Infection Control experience required.
• Current RN License in NYS and BLS certification.

About This Role

The Registered Nurse Infection Control, Per Diem at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn is responsible for nursing care and outcomes for a group of patients, focusing on infection prevention and control in collaboration with the healthcare team.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct infection surveillance to identify trends, transmission risks, and potential outbreaks.
• Provide guidance on isolation precautions, PPE use, and infection prevention practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Identify infection prevention risks and elevate urgent concerns to IPC leadership.
• Provide education and consultation to support best practices.
• Participate in environment of care, patient safety, and regulatory readiness rounds.
• Document patient assessment, reassessment, and progress toward goal achievement.
• Promote patient safety and quality, adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Administer medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Establish effective caring relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program

Experience:

• Infection Control experience required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License in NYS
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
