Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute in Oregon is seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse to lead the facility's infection control program and ensure patient safety for residents and staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with nursing leadership, adherence to CDC/OSHA guidelines, and ongoing program evaluation.

Responsibilities include policy development, staff training, surveillance of infections, and reporting outcomes to the Administrator and Director of Nursing Services.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Nursing Degree (RN) and licensure in the state.
• 2+ years experience in infection control, preferably in long-term care.
• Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique.
• CPR certification required; APIC certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret policies; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and direct the facility infection control program per current rules and guidelines.
• Ensure CDC/OSHA compliance and standard/universal precautions across the facility.
• Develop, update, and interpret infection control policies and aseptic techniques.
• Prepare monthly infection summaries and report findings to Administrator and DON.
• Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and coordinate with departments.
