Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and continually monitors infection control policies across departments.
• Implements surveillance for hospital-acquired and community infections; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Provides updates on policy changes to physicians and staff.
• Investigates outbreaks; analyzes data to recommend control measures.
• Consults with physicians and managers on infection management for at-risk patients.
• Participates in Infection Control Committees.
• Collaborates with local/state health departments on prevention and reporting of diseases.
• Educates employees on infection control practices and universal precautions.
