Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare field
• Master’s degree in clinical specialty preferred
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute
• Current State RN license required
• BLS Certification required
• ICP or related certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in medical-surgical or critical care
• Infection control experience and knowledge of epidemiology and disinfection

Responsibilities

• Consultants with physicians, managers, and staff for infection control management
• Develops, implements and monitors infection control policies for all departments
• Implements surveillance for hospital infections and regulatory compliance
• Provides updates on policy changes to physicians and staff
• Investigates outbreaks or clusters and recommends control measures
• Participates in Infection Control Committees
• Collaborates with health departments for reporting of communicable diseases
• Educates employees on infection control and conducts audits
