Job summary

The Nurse III (Infection Control Practitioner) at the Terrell Center for Youth leads the infection control program, coordinating with hospital staff to implement protocols and ensure regulatory compliance. The role develops policies, trains team members, and analyzes infection data to drive improvements in patient and staff safety.

She/He works under limited supervision, may supervise others, and participates in disaster response activities.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas with current eligibility
• BSN preferred for advanced practice and leadership
• CIC preferred or pursued within the first year of hire
• Experience coordinating infection control programs across hospital settings

Responsibilities

• Lead system-wide infection control program operations, policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement infection prevention initiatives and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Coordinate with health departments and CMS/TJC requirements.
• Train staff on infection control issues and perform surveillance rounds.
