Job summary

CHI St. Joseph’s Health of Park Rapids, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks an Infection Preventionist Employee Health RN to develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention programs across the organization.

You will conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections, analyze data, educate staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while protecting patients and staff.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• 1–3 years infection prevention or employee health experience.
• Minnesota RN license required.
• Infection Control certification within 24 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reviews, analyzes, interprets infection surveillance data and recommends actions to reduce risk.
• Conducts outbreak investigations and activities related to exposure to communicable diseases.
• Initiates, reviews, and revises infection prevention and employee health policies to meet current guidelines and standards.
• Reports notifiable diseases and infections to authorities as required by law.
• Initiates follow-up on exposures and staff compliance with infection control.
• Serves as a resource for all departments and staff.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Infection Preventionist Employee Health RN, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating effective infection prevention and control programs across the organization.

Every day you will conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections, analyze data to identify trends, and design evidence-based interventions to prevent their spread. This includes educating staff, consulting on infectious disease issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate expert knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and public health principles, coupled with strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities to influence positive changes in clinical practice and safeguard patient and staff well-being.

Job Requirements

Required

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• 1-3 years in infection prevention or employee health experience.
• Registered Nurse Licensed by the State of Minnesota.
• Certified in Infection Control within 24 - months of start date.
