Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Evening Environmental Services Associate to support hospital cleanliness and patient comfort across units including OR Suites and labs. You will perform waste handling, room cleaning, and use PPE and UV devices, while upholding infection prevention standards.

You will engage staff and patients with strong service orientation, document daily tasks, and follow hospital policies. Prior experience is appreciated.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience preferred.
• Fluent English required; ability to read, write and understand simple instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform restroom and patient room cleaning per protocol.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and select proper chemicals.
• Handle waste streams safely (solid, bio-waste, chemotherapy, pharmaceutical).
• Use PPE correctly and operate UV light equipment.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills with staff, patients and visitors.
• Document daily assignments and use system (Epic) to manage bed workflow.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety rules and code of conduct.
