Job summary

Tri-Valley Career Center in Livermore, CA seeks an Infant Teacher to support cognitive and social development for children 6 weeks to 2 years old. You will implement play-centered learning, maintain a safe, nurturing environment, and use age-appropriate strategies to promote early learning and healthy development.

Reporting to the Director, you will supervise the Infant Teacher Assistant, communicate with parents, and ensure licensing ratios are met while contributing to ongoing professional

Qualifications

• AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or must obtain within two (2) years from date of employment.
• 3 units in ECE/CD related to care of infants and toddlers.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience with infants and toddlers and related skills.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and age-appropriate curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient, kind, creative, organized, enthusiastic.
• Professional demeanor, team player, flexible and able to adjust to changing schedules.
• Complete required training: Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Food Handling, CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the assigned schedule on time.
• Develops and implements curriculum meeting the needs of infants and toddlers.
• Reviews child files and is informed about medical and developmental histories.
• Identifies physical or mental development concerns.
• Performs diaper changes and keeps changing tables clean.
• Supervises and cares for infants and toddlers, including meals.
• Maintains meal, nap, and diaper change logs.
• Fosters a positive, supportive learning atmosphere.
• Ensures safety for all children including parents, teachers, and staff.
• Maintains communication with parents via emails or direct communication.
• Maintains legal ratios as required by licensing.
• Completes training on time and participates in collaboration meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
