Job summary

Livermore Playschool Inc. is seeking an Infant Teacher to support cognitive and social development of preschoolers aged 18 to 36 months under the guidance of the Director.

The role focuses on play-centered learning, safety, and creating a nurturing environment that promotes early learning and social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. The teacher collaborates with staff, maintains developmental records, communicates with parents, and helps implement age-appropriate curricula and daily

Qualifications

• Minimum of an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or able to obtain within two years of employment.
• At least 3 units in ECE/CD related to care of infants and toddlers or coursework focused on infants/toddlers.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience with infants and toddlers; strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the assigned schedule on time.
• Develops and implements curriculum meeting the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social needs of infants and toddlers.
• Reviews each child’s files and is informed about medical and developmental histories.
• Identifies developmental concerns.
• Supervises and cares for infants and toddlers, including diaper changes and meal preparation.
• Maintains meal, nap, and diaper-change logs.
• Fosters a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
• Ensures safety for all children, including parents, teachers, and staff.
• Supports daily schedules, tasks, routines, and activities; fills in when needed.
• Supervises the Assistant Infant Teacher / Infant Aide.
• Maintains communication with parents via emails or direct conversations; speaks with respect.
• Maintains licensing ratios as required by regulations.
• Reports issues and concerns to the Director.
• Completes required training (safety, development) on time.
• Participates in collaboration meetings and professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director
