Job summary

Community Action Program for Central Arkansas, Inc. seeks an Infant/Toddler Teacher to implement the educational program in the infant/toddler classroom within a Head Start setting.

Under supervision, you will plan developmentally appropriate activities, foster safe and nurturing relationships, and engage families in supporting children’s early learning and growth, while maintaining a professional classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a CDA with Infant/Toddler Endorsement are required.
• Associate degree or bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education may also be accepted.
• One year experience working with infants & /or toddlers (6 weeks to 3 years).
• Must pass tuberculosis screening annually and initial health examination within first three months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license, access to transportation, and willingness to use a vehicle for agency travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement learning experiences for infants/toddlers to advance development.
• Establish a safe, healthy learning environment with positive relationships.
• Support families and involve them in children's learning.
• Maintain professional conduct with staff, parents, and children.
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities.
• Observe and assess children to inform individualized development plans.
• Provide supervision for children and volunteers in the classroom.
