Job summary

Pacific Clinics is seeking an Early Head Start teacher and caregiver to plan, implement, and supervise center-based activities for infants and toddlers, including those with developmental delays.

You will develop individual child plans, work with families and staff, prepare daily lesson plans, and maintain a safe learning environment while promoting growth across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical areas.

Qualifications

• Must have an A.A/A.S. Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Education or related degree; B.A/BS Degree preferred.
• Possess or be qualified for a California Child Development Teacher permit or higher.
• Must obtain and maintain DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Index Clearance.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Must have 3-6 units of infant/toddler development coursework.
• Ability to use Windows applications including Word and Excel.
• Must have valid California driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develops an individual plan for each child with goals and activities.
• Collaborates with education staff, parents, and Parent Committee to build meaningful curriculum.
• Prepares weekly lesson plans and posts objectives for parents and visitors.
• Schedules home visits and parent-teacher conferences and documents them.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
• Delivers developmentally appropriate activities addressing social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth.
• Supports transitions and family involvement through IFSP meetings and training.
• Ensures accurate records reflecting children’s progress and needs.
• Models Pacific Clinics’ mission and values in all communications.
