Job summary

Glassboro Child Development Centers is seeking a caring Teacher Assistant to support infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Work alongside experienced teachers to create a safe, nurturing environment where children learn through play and exploration.

The position supports planning activities, daily routines, health and safety, and documentation of development. 12 hours annual professional development focused on child development and DEI topics is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and families in a warm, supportive classroom.
• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities.
• Provide active supervision during indoor and outdoor play.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being of every child.
• Observe children and document developmental progress.
• Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and snacks as needed.
• Support diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom.

Glassboro Child Development Centers is seeking a caring and dependable Teacher Assistant to support our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. As a Teacher Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can learn through play and exploration.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM (includes a one-hour unpaid lunch break)
• Pay Rate: $17.98/hour
• Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

What You'll Do

Teacher Assistants help create positive classroom experiences by supporting children's learning, development, and daily routines.

Responsibilities include:

• Welcome children and families while helping create a warm, supportive classroom environment
• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities
• Provide active supervision during indoor and outdoor play
• Promote the health, safety, and well-being of every child

Qualifications

Required

• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience working with young children
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices

Professional Development

Employees complete a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development focused on child development, curriculum, assessment, infant and early childhood mental health, quality standards, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and other required childcare topics.

Work Environment

This position works in an infant, toddler, or preschool classroom and includes active indoor and outdoor supervision, frequent movement throughout the day, and assisting children with daily care routines. Employees may occasionally attend evening or weekend agency meetings or events.
