Job summary

Beanstalk Academy in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Infant Toddler Lead Teacher to create a warm, developmentally appropriate classroom for infants and toddlers, and to implement engaging activities that foster early literacy, social skills, and emotional well-being.

You will partner with families, monitor health and safety, plan daily routines, and ensure curriculum alignment with early childhood education standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience with infants and toddlers in licensed childcare centers or preschool settings is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
• Curriculum development focus on literacy education, sensory activities, and physical education for young children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early literacy, math skills, physical development, and social-emotional learning tailored to infants and toddlers
• Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management
• Plan engaging lesson activities that support childhood development milestones and incorporate Montessori or other educational philosophies as appropriate
• Provide attentive toddler care by monitoring health, hygiene, nutrition, and safety standards in compliance with childcare regulations
• Manage classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transition activities with patience and consistency
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about each child's progress, behavioral updates, and developmental milestones
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure classroom management strategies are effective and aligned with early intervention practices for children needing additional support

About the Role

• Familiarity with standardized testing methods used to assess early learning outcomes is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment
• Background in special education or working with children requiring additional support enhances your candidacy
• Excellent communication skills to foster collaborative relationships with families and team members committed to child welfare

Work Location

Our Toddler Lead Teacher will work from our location in Brooklyn, New York, providing a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.

Salary

$19 - $21 HOURLY
