Job summary

Beanstalk Academy in New York is seeking an Infant Toddler Teacher to nurture infants and toddlers, support early literacy, social skills, and healthy development. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior classroom experience with infants/toddlers in licensed settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and behavior management techniques.
  • Experience in curriculum development focusing on literacy, sensory activities and physical education.
  • Familiarity with standardized assessments a plus.
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics while maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Background in special education or supporting children needing additional help is a plus.
  • Excellent communication to collaborate with families and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum promoting literacy, math, physical development, and social-emotional learning for infants/toddlers.
  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom encouraging exploration, independence, and positive behavior.
  • Plan engaging activities aligned with developmental milestones and Montessori or similar philosophies.
  • Monitor health, hygiene, nutrition, and safety per childcare regulations.
  • Manage routines including diapering, feeding, naps, and transitions with patience.
  • Communicate progress and milestones with parents/guardians regularly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective classroom management and support for children needing extra help.

As an Infant Toddler Teacher, you will create a warm, engaging environment tailored to the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, fostering growth in literacy, social skills, and emotional well-being. Responsible for:
  • Developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early literacy, math skills, physical development, and social-emotional learning tailored to infants and toddlers
  • Creating a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management
  • Planning engaging lesson activities that support childhood development milestones and incorporate Montessori or other educational philosophies as appropriate
  • Providing attentive toddler care by monitoring health, hygiene, nutrition, and safety standards in compliance with childcare regulations
  • Managing classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transition activities with patience and consistency
  • Communicating effectively with parents and guardians about each child's progress, behavioral updates, and developmental milestones
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure classroom management strategies are effective and aligned with early intervention practices for children needing additional support
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or currently pursuing
  • Prior classroom experience working with infants and toddlers in licensed childcare centers or preschool settings is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies
  • Experience in curriculum development focused on literacy education, sensory activities, and physical education for young children
  • Familiarity with standardized testing methods used to assess early learning outcomes is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Background in special education or working with children requiring additional support enhances your candidacy
  • Excellent communication skills to foster collaborative relationships with families and team members committed to child welfare
