Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc seeks a dedicated Childcare Specialist to deliver a safe, developmentally appropriate daycare program at Especially Children Child Care Development Center. You will plan activities, supervise children, and maintain a clean, secure environment.

You will implement nutrition, daily schedules, and culturally responsive activities while adhering to policies and emergency procedures. Strong communication with parents and staff is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a program for young children
  • Plan and implement activities to meet physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs

  • Ensure clean, safe and well-maintained facilities
  • Provide weekly/monthly activity schedules
  • Develop culturally appropriate programs and literacy/math activities
  • Establish policies and procedures including disciplinary policies
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures
  • Supervise children at all times
  • Provide varied experiences: songs, games, storytelling
  • Provide sleep/rest time
  • Build children's self-esteem

Job description

The "Childcare Specialist" is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate daycare program for the children of "Especially Children Child Care Development Center" in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. The "Childcare Specialist" will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to care for young children. They must ensure the development and safety of these children in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures of this facility. This person must also be respectful of children, parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement a program for young children

Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs

Provide nutritious snacks and lunches

Provide adequate equipment and activities

Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times

Provide weekly and monthly schedules of activities

Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities

Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts

Establish policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies

Be familiar with emergency procedures

  • Supervise children in the childcare center

Ensure children are supervised at all times

Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story telling

Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time

Build children's esteem

Establish routines and provide positive guidance

Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable

Implement positive discipline when required

Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand

  • Maintain program administration

Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child's progress

Develop and maintain current, accurate and confidential client files

Develop daily activity plans

Requirements

The person for this position must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

Six months experience working in a licensed childcare facility
