Job summary

Chickasha Early Learning Center is seeking a Childcare Worker to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children. You will supervise play, prepare meals, manage hygiene, and implement developmentally appropriate activities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; OKDHS training/certifications are preferred. You will communicate with parents, maintain cleanliness, follow licensing rules, and collaborate with staff to support children's health and learning.

Qualifications

  • Preferred childcare experience and OKDHS training/certifications.
  • Must comply with licensing regulations and CPR/First Aid requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with School Board Policy.
  • Supervision & Safety: Actively monitor children during play, naptime, and meals to ensure safety.
  • Basic Care: Change diapers, assist with restroom use, and help with dressing/grooming.
  • Activity Planning: Create or implement age-appropriate educational games, crafts, and outdoor activities.
  • Nutrition: Prepare and serve nutritious snacks and meals.
  • Environment Maintenance: Sanitize toys, clean equipment, and tidy classrooms/play areas.
  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain daily records of routines and behavior to share with parents, and report any injuries or developmental concerns.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety, security, and licensing procedures, including CPR/first aide requirements.
  • Supervise and assist at arrival and departure.
  • Assist students in classrooms with tasks completion and guided practice of skills being taught.
  • Familiarize yourself with the program, regulations and procedures in the classroom and throughout the school setting.
  • Maintain an atmosphere conducive to good student health and safety.
  • Use good judgment at all times.
  • Reward students with praise and other positive reinforcements for good behavior and work.
  • Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance
  • Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff members.
  • Will demonstrate respect and dignity in the workplace.

Job description

Position: Childcare Worker

Primary Purpose: Provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children by supervising play, preparing meals, managing hygiene (diapering/potty training), and implementing developmental activities. Maintain cleanliness, communicate with parents, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations. Key skills include patience, alertness, and strong communication skills.
