Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks an Infant/Toddler Teacher to nurture young learners in a warm, bilingual classroom. You will create engaging activities, support early development, and partner with families through home visits and conferences to strengthen learning at home and in the center.

You’ll follow CACFP guidelines, ensure safety, adapt activities for children with special needs, and collaborate with teachers to provide culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate instruction for infants

Qualifications

• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permit required within one month of hire.
• Must be able to work with children with special needs and children with limited or no English.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Responsibilities

• Create a captivating classroom environment for toddlers following early childhood education best practices.
• Plan and implement daily activities to support physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.
• Tailor activities to meet the needs of children with special requirements and help them shine.
• Foster a warm, respectful atmosphere that supports independence and curiosity.
• Build relationships with families through home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure adherence to supervision, safety, and health policies and procedures.
• Supervise and engage with children to ensure safety and well-being.
• Promote development through a developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive curriculum.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment with kind, respectful interactions.
• Advocate for children's needs and support freedom of expression and autonomy.
• Collaborate with teachers to engage children in activities and maintain ongoing learning opportunities.
• Recognize bilingualism and biliteracy as strengths and support dual-language learners.
• Encourage learning through nature and the natural environment.
• Assist with IFSP/IEP learning activities for inclusivity.
• Model proper language use and appropriate voice levels.
