Job summary

Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s ECLC is seeking an experienced Infant/Toddler Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate education in a nurturing setting. You will work with families to support school readiness goals and collaborate with the Education Coordinator and co-teachers.

The position requires a degree in early childhood and experience with young children, including Native American families. A flexible schedule and CPR/First Aid certification are anticipated.

Qualifications

  • AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or related field.
  • Two or more years experience working with young children.
  • Experience working with Native American families desired.
  • Ability to lead learning activities and follow through on projects.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with management to implement curricula in the classroom.
  • Facilitate home visits and parent/teacher conferences annually.
  • Plan daily routines and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
  • Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants and toddlers.
  • Prepare classroom clean-up, toy sanitization and laundry as needed.
  • Support individualized curriculum with family input and plans.
  • Develop transition plans and involve parents in processes.
  • Serve bottles, meals and snacks for infants/toddlers.
  • Build professional relationships with families and staff.

AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or related field
Willingness to complete Idaho STARS training within six months
Child Development Associate credential and/or willingness to complete within one year of hire
