Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA certificate required within 6 months from date of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year Oregon community college certificate in early childhood development with infant/toddler focus within 1 year from hire.
• Placement within the appropriate tier is determined by education credentials.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety, health, and development of infants and toddlers in a nurturing environment.
• Plan and implement culturally responsive curriculum aligned with Head Start standards.
• Supervise children and maintain a clean, safe classroom.
• Conduct developmental screenings, observations, and individualized learning plans.
• Collaborate with parents and specialists to support child development.
• Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to discuss progress and goals.
• Provide guidance to staff and volunteers; participate in trainings and program planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and program records.
• Promote nutrition, health and safety practices; support family engagement.

Education

High School Diploma / GED / Diploma de Educación Secundaria

Infant Toddler CDA certificate

Oregon community college certificate (1 year) in early childhood development

Infant/Toddler Teacher CDA pathway within 6 months of hire
