Job summary

Beginners Inn Child Care and Learning Center is seeking an experienced and energetic Infant/Toddler Child Care Assistant Teacher to join our team. You will encourage children's intellectual, psychological, and physical growth, providing nurturing, patient, and creative care.

The ideal candidate loves working with young children, follows Michigan licensing rules, maintains safe, clean classrooms, and collaborates with staff to support daily routines, meals, naps, and learning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for infants and toddlers (6 weeks to 30 months).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Patience, dependability, and ability to respond calmly to children's needs.
• Willingness to learn and follow Michigan licensing requirements.
• Ability to meet applicable employment, training, and physical requirements.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active supervision of all children at all times.
• Provide attentive, responsive care based on each child's individual needs and developmental stage.
• Feed infants and toddlers according to family instructions and classroom procedures.
• Change diapers regularly and assist with toileting and beginning potty-training routines as appropriate.
• Maintain proper handwashing, diapering, sanitizing, and other hygiene practices.
• Support children's transitions throughout the day, including meals, naps, indoor and outdoor play, and classroom activities.
• Communicate any changes in a child's health, eating, sleeping, or behavior to the appropriate staff and families.
• Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain toys, equipment, tables, and classroom materials according to center procedures.
• Complete daily classroom checklists, help implement lesson plans, conduct child observations, and complete other required records.
• Assist with classroom-assigned duties.
• Work cooperatively with classroom teammates to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and consistent routines.
