Job summary

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County is seeking an Associate Teacher for our Early Childhood Education team in Salinas, CA. The role focuses on providing high-quality education and care for children aged 0-5, while collaborating with supervisors and teachers to implement developmentally appropriate activities.

The position requires 12 ECE units or a CDA/CTC credential, along with relevant experience and a permit at minimum.

Qualifications

• Must have 12 ECE CD units with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
• Must have 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years.
• Associate Teacher Permit or higher required.
• If applicable, meet CDA credential program within 2 years or possess an associate/bachelor degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive learning experience.
• Collaborate with Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assume Teacher duties in their absence, guiding instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
• Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
• Assist with bus supervision to ensure child safety during transportation.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition within the first 30 days of hire.
