Job summary

Child Development Resources (CDR) in Williamsburg, VA is hiring an Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher for Early Head Start. You will create a warm, engaging classroom for ages 6 weeks to 3 years and deliver life-changing services to qualifying families.

We offer paid CDA credentialing, CPR/First Aid/MAT, coaching and growth opportunities, competitive salary and benefits, and generous time off. You will maintain a 4:1 teacher-to-child ratio and work in a small-group setting of up to 8 children.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
• Experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Passion for supporting children and families.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willing to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA Credential.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
• Knowledge of Virginia Child Care Licensing requirements.
• CPR, First Aid, and MAT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate care and education.
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Build positive partnerships with families.
• Create engaging learning experiences through play and exploration.
• Maintain a low teacher-to-child ratio of just 4:1.
• Work in classrooms with a maximum of 8 children.
• Help deliver life-changing Early Head Start services to qualifying families.
