Job summary

YWCA of Asheville and WNC seeks an Infant Teacher to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for infants. You will partner with families to ensure continuity of care between home and school, while adhering to North Carolina licensing standards and organizational policies.

The role focuses on physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development through responsive interactions and planned activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infant development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Understanding of NC licensing regulations and health/safety standards.
• Ability to build nurturing relationships with families and children.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Familiarity with developmental assessment tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, nurturing care for infants and support healthy attachment.
• Build responsive relationships with each infant through individualized care.
• Plan developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants' growth.
• Follow feeding, sleeping, and care schedules; support routines.
• Encourage milestones through age-appropriate activities and play.
• Ensure supervision, health checks, and safety policies are followed.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of development.
