Job summary

YWCA of Asheville and WNC is seeking an NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality early childhood education that meets state standards. This role involves creating a nurturing environment for preschool-aged children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

The ideal candidate should hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and have relevant experience. Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum implementation, classroom management, and ensuring safety and well-being of children.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of relevant experience or educational equivalency.
• Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
• ABCMS Background Check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum.
• Assist with classroom management and supervision.
• Help prepare learning materials and maintain records.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
