Job summary

The Learning Experience of South Fort Myers Jonathan’s Bay is seeking passionate Teachers for our Infant classroom. You will lead, mentor, and provide a safe, nurturing space for infants while delivering engaging early learning using our LEAP Curriculum.

Join a community focused on high-quality daycare and preschool. The role emphasizes family communication, professional development, and collaboration with center staff to support enrollment and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional childcare experience with infants.
• High school diploma or GED; CDA/Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
• Florida DCF 40-hour introductory childcare training completed or willingness to complete within state timelines.
• ITPR course completed or willingness to complete.
• Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training completed or willingness to complete within required timeframe.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized infant classroom.
• Must meet Florida DCF background screening and licensing requirements.

• Communicate regularly with parents via apps and personal discussions.
• Support center goals around enrollment and engagement with staff.
• Build relationships with families and coworkers in a collaborative environment.
• Move, lift, and assist children up to 40 lbs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback.
• Responsible for overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
• Serve as a role model, using a growth mindset to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning
• Implement our proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, working with Infant and Toddler children in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Communicate regularly with parents, sharing their children’s latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues, including mobile apps and personal discussions.
• Support your center’s success, partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagement.
• Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen seamlessly.
• Ability to move, lift, and assist children (e.g., up to 40 lbs).

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of professional childcare experience, preferably working with infants.
• High school diploma or GED required; CDA, Associate degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
• Completion of Florida DCF's 40-hour introductory childcare training, or willingness to complete it within state-required timelines.
• Infant & Toddler Appropriate Practices (ITPR) course completed or willingness to complete.
• Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training completed or willingness to complete within the required timeframe.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized infant classroom.
• Must meet Florida DCF background screening, training, and other applicable childcare licensing requirements.
