Job description
Education and Experience:
- At least 18 years of age (25 if responsible for driving a bus).
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-year experience working with the specified age group.
- Knowledge and understanding of all current State and Local regulations.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive and nurturing environment for children.
- Ensure the health and safety of children, minimizing accidents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom areas, including bathrooms.
- Arrange the classroom with no running spaces, using shelves as dividers, and keep materials and supplies at child level.
- Display and label toys and manipulatives attractively on shelves.
- Enrich classroom learning centers with teacher-made materials, real objects, and multicultural items.
- Ensure equipment is used properly and teach children to do the same.
- Maintain all required bulletin boards according to guidelines.
- Provide consistent supervision of all children; never leave children unattended. Know the number, ages, and identities of children at all times.
- Post lesson plans and submit supply lists regularly.
- Ensure lesson plans align with current curriculum requirements.
- Plan and implement effective transitions and maintain an organized daily schedule.
