Job summary

Nellie's Treehouse in Amherst, NH seeks a compassionate Infant Teacher to join our early childhood team. You will provide safe, nurturing care for infants, support development, and share daily updates with families to give peace of mind.

You will design age‑appropriate activities, maintain a clean, licensed classroom, and collaborate with parents to track milestones and progress.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 18 ECE credits meeting NH requirements for Associate/Lead Teacher.
• Experience with infants/toddlers in licensed childcare.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, high-quality care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing.

About This Role

Nellie's Treehouse has two state licensed programs one in Milford and one in Amherst, NH. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Milford, NH. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where infants can grow, explore, and reach their developmental milestones. You will build strong partnerships with families, providing daily updates and peace of mind while caring for their little ones.

What You'll Do

• Provide responsive, high-quality care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing.
• Design and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate language, motor, and cognitive skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that meets state licensing standards.
• Observe and document each child's daily routines, progress, and developmental milestones.
• Communicate effectively and warmly with parents regarding their child's daily activities and needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field, meeting New Hampshire state requirements for Associate Teacher or Lead Teacher.
• Documented experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Familiarity with New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Rules.
• Prior experience using childcare communication apps for parent updates.

About Us

Nellie's Treehouse is a family-owned and operated child care/early learning center located on Route 101A in Amherst, NH. The program opened in 2000, serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years and has a licensed capacity of 69 students. Nellie's provides 5,000 square feet of indoor classroom spaces and sits on an acre of land.

The goal of the school is to ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times and to encourage successful social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth and development throughout the early years. We acknowledge the importance of authentic partnerships with families as they are their child's first teachers. We recognize each child as an individual and utilize developmentally appropriate, play based curriculum to promote independence and foster creativity.

The center is open from 6:00am to 7:00pm and has an open door policy. Infants and Ones are provided diapers, wipes, spring water and whole milk. Twos, Preschool, Pre-k and K are provided breakfast, lunches and 3 snacks.
