Job summary

HappyCampersDeSoto is seeking a dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to manage the daily operations of the infant classroom, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate setting for babies. The role involves guiding daily indoor and outdoor activities within a fast-paced, child-centered environment.

The candidate should have 1+ year experience with infants, and a HS diploma or GED, with higher education preferred. CPR/First Aid certification and KDHE compliance are required or to be obtained on hire.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting (lead teacher experience preferred).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Completion of all required KDHE training and annual professional development requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate caregiving practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in all aspects of classroom care, including lifting, carrying, bending, sitting on the floor, and outdoor supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks and health assessments in accordance with KDHE regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Montessori training or certification.
  • Experience leading a classroom and mentoring assistant teachers.
  • Familiarity with Brightwheel or other childcare management software.
