Job summary

River Road Early Learning Center in Richmond, VA, is seeking a compassionate Infant Teacher to support infants’ cognitive, social, language, and physical development. You will caregive, build secure attachments, and partner with families to track milestones and progress.

The ideal candidate has a nursing or pediatric healthcare background, CPR/First Aid certification, and a passion for early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Passionate about infant development and early childhood education.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to foster nurturing, secure attachments with infants.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, safe, and responsive infant classroom.
• Build trusting relationships with each child and family.
• Monitor developmental milestones across cognitive, physical, language and social-emotional domains.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities promoting exploration and discovery.
• Provide feeding, diapering, comfort, and basic care while engaging with infants.
• Support early language development through reading, singing, and conversation.
• Observe and document each child’s progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary environment.
• Communicate daily with families about care and milestones.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and administrators to ensure high-quality care.
• Follow Virginia licensing regulations and center policies.
