Job summary

Riverside Health System is hiring a part-time assistant for the Young Infant room in Newport News, VA. You will support the Lead Teacher in daily activities, safety, and caregiving tasks for infants aged 6 weeks to 9 months.

You will help implement the curriculum, maintain safe and clean classroom environments, and communicate with parents about daily events, observations, and developmental progress. Prior experience in early childhood education is preferred, with required high school completion.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 6 months of early childhood/child care experience required.
• 1 year education/training as teacher assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sight and sound supervision of children at all times.
• Oversee daily care and safety of children in assigned classroom.
• Communicate with parents daily via app, email, phone, or in person.
• Support the implementation of center curriculum and daily activities.
• Assist in lesson planning, attendance, training hours, and staff meetings.
