Manchester Early Learning Center is looking for a compassionate Teacher Assistant for the Infant Room as they transition to a Montessori program. This role involves supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing classroom, assisting with daily routines, and promoting infant development through Montessori practices. Manchester Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support our Infant Room. Our program is in the process of transitioning to a Montessori program, and we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and incorporate Montessori practices into the infant classroom.
The Teacher Assistant will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where infants can develop, explore, and grow. This role involves preparing a calm and engaging classroom, assisting with daily routines, and fostering a sense of security and curiosity in the infants.
· Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities that align with Montessori principles.
· Create and maintain a peaceful, soothing, and beautiful environment conducive to the needs of infants.
· Assist with daily routines, including diapering, feeding, and nap transitions.
· Model and encourage respectful interactions with infants, guiding them through sensory exploration and emotional development.
· Help with classroom organization, ensuring materials are accessible and used properly for infant development.
· Observe and document infants’ progress, needs, and milestones.
· Maintain cleanliness and order in the classroom and learning areas.
· Participate in Montessori training and professional development as part of our transition to a full Montessori program.
· Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to support each infant’s development.
· Experience working with infants or young children in an educational or caregiving setting preferred.
· A willingness to train in Montessori philosophy and implement Montessori practices.
· Ability to provide a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for infants.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Patience, flexibility, and a passion for early childhood education.
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage in activities at an infant’s level.
· Coursework or training in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
· Experience in a Montessori classroom or familiarity with Montessori philosophy.
· CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
