Infant Room Assistant Teacher - Manchester Early Learning Center

Join us as an Infant Room Assistant Teacher at Manchester Early Learning Center.

Overview

Manchester Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support our Infant Room. Our program is transitioning to a Montessori approach, and we are looking for individuals eager to learn and incorporate Montessori practices into the infant classroom.

Responsibilities
  1. Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities aligned with Montessori principles.
  2. Create and maintain a peaceful, soothing, and engaging environment suitable for infants.
  3. Assist with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, and nap transitions.
  4. Model respectful interactions and guide infants through sensory exploration and emotional development.
  5. Organize classroom materials to support infant development.
  6. Observe, document, and communicate infants' progress and milestones.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the classroom.
  8. Participate in Montessori training and professional development.
  9. Communicate effectively with staff and families to support infant development.
Qualifications
  1. Experience working with infants or young children preferred.
  2. Willingness to learn and implement Montessori practices.
  3. Ability to create a calm and nurturing environment.
  4. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  5. Patience, flexibility, and passion for early childhood education.
  6. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage with infants at their level.
Preferred Skills
  1. Coursework or training in Early Childhood Education.
  2. Experience in a Montessori setting or familiarity with Montessori philosophy.
  3. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
