Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Milk and Formula Coordinator to organize the Milk/Formula Room, handling HM prep, donor/maternal milk, and specialty feeds for patients. The role emphasizes safe preparation, labeling, and collaboration with nursing and nutrition staff.

The position involves inventory management, accurate documentation, and ensuring proper storage conditions. Part-time daytime hours in New York, with weekend/holiday rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous nutrition, food service, or milk/formula room experience is a plus.
• Infant feeding technician certification preferred; training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Organize the Milk/Formula Room including preparation, distribution, and inventory.
• Prepare and fortify human milk and specialty formulas for patient feeding.
• Document intake of maternal/donor milk and track batch numbers and expirations.
• Label, thaw, and sanitize HM/formula; ensure proper storage times/temperatures.
• Deliver HM and enteral products to hospital units; communicate with staff and families.
• Assist with inventory, restock supplies, and handle phone inquiries promptly.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control; rotate weekends/holidays as needed.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree and/or higher preferred
