Job summary

Agape Montessori School in Kansas is seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher for our infant classroom. You will work with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, orderly environment and support early independence through observation and care.

Responsibilities include preparing the classroom, assisting with routines, documenting development, and maintaining a safe, clean space. CPR/First Aid and health training are required, with opportunities for Montessori certification sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background in infant care; prior classroom experience preferred.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training (provided by our school).
• Clearances: Pass a background check and comply with Kansas Office of Early Childhood regulations.
• Core Skills: Strong communication, active observation, teamwork, and a solid understanding of infant developmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Environment Preparation: Set up, organize, and maintain the classroom environment and materials for infants.
• Classroom Support: Assist the Lead Teacher with daily routines, feeding, self-care, and transitions.
• Child Observation: Observe and document student growth and needs; provide individual support.
• Community & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe classroom; build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
